Captured from above at sunrise, the winding Terrigal Boardwalk traces its way along the sandstone cliffs, linking land and sea in a composition rich with colour, texture, and movement.

The vibrant turquoise water, warm sandstone tones, and intricate lines of the boardwalk combine to create a striking aerial view that reveals the beauty of this coastal landscape in an entirely different way.

📖 The Story Behind the Shot

Terrigal is one of those locations I return to time and time again. While most visitors experience the boardwalk from ground level, I wanted to explore the patterns and shapes that emerge when viewed from above.

Launching the drone at first light, I watched as the rising sun began to illuminate the coastline. The colours intensified with every passing minute. The sandstone cliffs glowed with rich oranges and golds, while the ocean below shifted through shades of turquoise, aqua, and deep blue.

From the air, the boardwalk became more than just a pathway. It transformed into a leading line that guides the viewer through the image, connecting the rugged coastline with the ever-changing ocean below. The waves crashing against the rocks added energy and movement, creating a beautiful contrast against the geometric structure of the walkway.

This is one of those images that reminds me how a change in perspective can completely change the story.
