📖 The Story Behind the Shot

Terrigal is a location I never tire of photographing. No matter how many times I visit, the coastline always offers something different.

On this morning, I launched the drone before sunrise, hoping the heavy cloud cover would break just enough to allow some colour to reach the horizon. As dawn approached, a narrow band of golden light appeared beneath the clouds, transforming what had looked like an ordinary morning into something special.

From above, the entire scene unfolded beautifully. The calm waters of Terrigal Haven reflected the subtle morning light while The Skillion stood as the focal point of the landscape, watching over the coastline as it has for generations.

What I love most about aerial photography is the ability to reveal relationships within the landscape that are difficult to appreciate from ground level. The curves of the shoreline, the positioning of the buildings, the open parkland, and the dramatic headland all come together to tell the story of one of the Central Coast's most loved destinations.
