Our New Gallery Mascot – Pickle the Pelican
If you’ve wandered past the gallery lately, chances are you’ve already met him.
We’re thrilled to officially introduce Pickle the Pelican, the newest (and shiniest) member of the Scapes of Art family. This striking metal pelican was a commissioned artwork by long-time gallery supporters, brought to life by talented local metal artist Jimbo Green of Jimbo’s Metal Art.

A Pelican with a Personality
From the moment he arrived, our pelican quickly became part of everyday life here in The Entrance — stopping passers-by, featuring in photos, and sparking conversations outside the gallery. What started as a commissioned artwork soon became something much more: a character locals and visitors genuinely connected with.
You Named Him
Rather than choosing a name ourselves, we handed that honour over to our community. Visitors, collectors and followers helped narrow it down to five wonderful contenders:
Belican · Pickle · Soraya · Penny · Puck
The vote was cast… and the result was clear.
And the Winner Is…
✨ Pickle the Pelican ✨
Yes — it’s a boy!
Pickle has officially claimed his place as our gallery mascot, and we couldn’t imagine a better name.
Thank You
A huge thank you to everyone who voted, shared, commented and joined in the fun. Moments like this remind us why Scapes of Art is more than a gallery — it’s a shared creative space shaped by community, story and connection.
You’ll be seeing plenty more of Pickle as he continues his adventures around The Entrance.
