I photographed this sweeping aerial view of The Entrance on New Year’s Day 2026. As the sun rose over the coast, rolling waves met the shoreline while the channel and town came into view below. The first light of a new year brought a feeling of possibility and a fresh start.

The Story Behind the Shot

I captured this scene with my drone on the first morning of 2026. From above, the panorama brings the ocean, rolling surf, channel and The Entrance together in one broad view of the Central Coast.

Why It Matters

For me, this photograph holds the promise of a new beginning alongside the familiar rhythm of the waves and the beauty of home. It is a moment from one particular morning that cannot be repeated.

The Print

This is a limited edition of five. I will sign and number each print. The 160 cm × 40 cm image is printed on metallic photographic paper and professionally framed in a 3 cm white frame, without a mat board. The finished framed dimensions are larger than the image size.
